Description Daniel Kasak 2005-05-02 21:08:27 UTC
Running famd ( File Alteration Monitor Daemon ) prevents me from emptying the trash if I delete files on a network server.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. start famd
2. mount a samba share
3. delete a file via nautilus
4. right-click on the trash icons and select 'empty trash'

Actual Results:
'Directory is busy' error, with retry / skip / cancel options.

Expected Results:
Trash is emptied.

After trying *many* times, I stopped famd, and this immediately allowed me to
empty the trash.

bug mentioned previously is covering the issue ( but not yet solved ). UPSTREAM.
Comment 2 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-21 03:13:44 UTC
This is why we want to move to gamin instead of fam.
Comment 3 Daniel Kasak 2005-07-21 15:46:51 UTC
I take it there are currently issues with moving to gamin, otherwise you
wouldn't have said 'want to move to'? Or is it a drop-in replacement?
