Even though Project Dolphin is underway, I think it would be really great if dump and restore could be included on the minimal livecd, as this is the only utility causing that cd to not be able to do a bare-metal restore. It would also stop people having to track the development of two cd series (minimal and dolphin). Also, a quote from the Dolphin Meta-Bug; "Remember, this project is expeirmental and nothing considered to be released regulary."

So could dump & restore be included? It's way less than 200k and would be really useful.

Thanks,

Kai.

I have no intentions on adding any more functionality to the minimal CD. I am actually looking to decrease its size even more, so 200K is a big deal. The truth is that Project Dolphin will live on, even if the current maintainer of it decides to quit on it, simply because I think Gentoo needs a good rescue disk, and the minimal install CD is *not* the place for it, as it defeats the purpose of being "minimal" if it has unnecessary packages on it.
