Description Andrey Falko 2005-04-30 00:15:17 UTC
Not matter what speed I tell K3b to write dvds or cds it writes them at 1x (for dvds) and 16x (for cds).
It reports the speed that it is supposed to write at, but does not write at that speed. Here is some out put from it:

Note that, to get this output I used a 4x capable dvdrw, and told k3b to burn at 4x. From the line "/dev/hda: "Current Write Speed" is 4.1x1385KBps." k3b was telling me that it was planning on write at 4x. I have tried five different media types, and with all of them I get the same result. With cdrs, I have the same problem, but they burn are 16x (even though k3b promises to burn at higher speeds.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open k3b
2. queue up some files or images to burn
3. tell k3b to burn at maximum speed or what ever

Actual Results:
it burns at 1x for dvds and 16x for cdrs

Expected Results:
It should burn at the speeds that the user desires (within the limits of burner
and media capability).

Ok, thanks. I was wondering about where to turn to.
