Please make sure that you're not running a hardened gcc: a) check: gcc-config -c b) check: echo $GCC_SPECS -- the variable should be empty c) check: /etc/env.d/05gcc -- there should be no references to anything 'hardened' megatron root # gcc-config -c x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-3.4.3 megatron root # echo $GCC_SPECS megatron root # cat /etc/env.d/05gcc PATH="/usr/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-bin/3.4.3" ROOTPATH="/usr/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-bin/3.4.3" MANPATH="/usr/share/gcc-data/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.3/man" INFOPATH="/usr/share/gcc-data/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.3/info" LDPATH="/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.3" GCC_SPECS="" Just to be sure, could you please try just merging splashutils once again? It's possible that GCC_SPECS was set (due to some previous operations that had been done on the terminal you were using) while you were trying to merge it the last time. Hrm, just manually re-set it to the vanilla compiler with gcc-config, sourced /etc/profile, and it emerged fine. You must be right. Of course, now I need to figure out why my kernel has no splashimage support. ;P |
