Description Torbjörn Söderstedt 2005-04-26 12:32:21 UTC
Entering long text strings (> 16 characters) in mathematical formulas causes them to render improperly or crash OpenOffice. Formulas are always rendered wrong under this condition, but crashes appear randomly (and more often with large formulas).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start OpenOffice with an empty document
2. Insert->Object->Formula
3. Enter "12345678901234567" (including quotation marks)
4. (If formula is not updated automatically) press F9

Actual Results:
Extra whitespace is inserted to the left of the formula.

Expected Results:
Formula rendered correctly.

Can't reproduce that, following your example no extra whitespace is added for me. Could you please post your output of "emerge info", this could be a problem in regard to CFLAGS. You could also try openoffice-bin and see if you have the same problem there.

Now I can't reproduce the problem on any of my computers. I must have been doing something strange then. It seemed so predictable, but now I guess there's no hope finding the cause.

Sorry for taking up your time with this.
