Description M. Edward Borasky 2005-04-24 16:07:50 UTC
I'm trying to connect to my Thunderbird address book with OpenOffice 1.9.9.5 Base. I've been able to get it to connect, but the tables are showing up empty. Here's the process:

1. Open OpenOffice.org Base
2. Connect to an existing database and select Thunderbird Address Book database type. Hit "Next".
3. Hit "Finish". You will get a dialog box to save the new file. Give it a name and save it.
4. Click on the Tables icon in the left panel. You will see two tables, Collected Addresses and Personal Address Book. On my system, the first one is empty but the second one isn't.
5. Right click on the tables and select Open. A view of the address book comes up, but there aren't any records in it.

By the way, if it matters, the version of Thunderbird is 1.0.2. I haven't attempted this with OO 1.1.4, so I don't know if this works in the older versions.

Well, that's what you receive when you choose to use testing software. ;)

And that's what the OO.org community receives from us testers :). Do you have a clue if this is upstream or Gentoo-specific? I don't have anywhere else I can test this (yet).

Most likely this is an upstream problem, as there are still many of them, still too early to take this bug

I tried to file it upstream after filing it here. Their bug repository server was non-responsive and I bailed out. I'm going to try again tonight; maybe there are just too many honorary testers like myself on the weekends :).
