This is mentioned not only in the release notes for x86, but also in the Handbook. This is a function of udev. Why can the mknod not be in the device node tarball? or on boot the device nodes are created automaticly... mknod /dev/md0 b 9 0 mknod /dev/md1 b 9 1 IIRC Other distros do this. Everytime i boot into rescue mode with the live cd, or start a new install. Even 2006.0 i have to manually create the dev nodes. We don't use the tarball on our CDs is probably a start. |
