Description Gen Zhang 2005-04-17 13:45:48 UTC
The gaim 1.2.1 build currently locks on to libebook-1.0. However, the GNOME 2.10 version is 1.2. This is an upstream problem. However, according to http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-gnome/2004-December/009528.html , it seems that the FreeBSD people have come up with a working solution. The patch cited is no longer there however. Shouldn't stop us from being at least as good as FreeBSD tho... :-D

let bugwranglers assign bugs, gaim is not gnome.

I checked fbsd cvs and they just use this simple patch to check for the latest
evo-data-server. I am going to move gnome-2.10 out of package.mask and would
even like to have eds become a default useflag. Using this patch won't break
everybodys gaim compile when that happens.

Missed a line in the previous patch. I have unmasked gnome-2.10 and added eds
to use.defaults. This patch should be added to ~arch gaim as soon as possible.
Sorry to break things but one of us had to commit first :(

Joe will that work with 1.0 users as well?
Comment 5 Don Seiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-03 07:38:41 UTC
Looks like this has been fixed upstream. The patch is in configure.ac and virtually impossible to patch into an old release.

gaim-1.3.0 is due to be released Thursday evening (US EST) and will include this fix.
Comment 6 Don Seiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-11 10:51:51 UTC
gaim-1.3.0 is now released and should be stable in all arches soon. Please confirm the fix and report back here.

Still waiting for user to confirm fix.
Comment 8 Gen Zhang 2005-05-17 09:45:29 UTC
I can confirm that it works, on amd64

Good to hear.
