I only use media-video/makemkv as a replacement for libaacs, so I'm no expert, but I gather libaacs won't play encrypted media out of the box. See this from https://www.videolan.org/developers/libaacs.html. > NB: this project doesn't offer any key or certificate that could be used to decode encrypted copyrighted material. I'm pretty sure that these files are never installed by the package (other distributions aren't doing anything different, and I don't see anything in the source code) and that libaacs is failing to read your disc. On the other hand, https://askubuntu.com/questions/1325752/missing-aacs-configuration-file-error-when-playing-blueray-movies and others suggest that you need to find the keys yourself, and that this is how libaacs avoids running afoul of copyright laws. Some online reports I see mention that the disc may have become unmounted during reading, or similar. If repeated attempts fail, consider trying something like media-video/makemkv. .. just saw chewi's comment which quotes the site, oops (In reply to Sam James from comment #3) > .. just saw chewi's comment which quotes the site, oops Hi The only package that can find the decryption key for libaacs is aacskeys but it needs to be patched for openssl 1.1 (In reply to Andrea Postiglione from comment #4) > (In reply to Sam James from comment #3) > > .. just saw chewi's comment which quotes the site, oops > > > Hi The only package that can find the decryption key for libaacs is aacskeys > but it needs to be patched for openssl 1.1 I don't think that changes that the bug is invalid. libaacs never comes with keys. If there's another package in Gentoo which is broken, please file a new bug. |
