Bug 89036 – authdaemond startup error message

Every time I start up my machine or when I emerge things I get the following error message:

"Caching service dependencies...
 Cannot provide 'authdaemond', as a service with the same name exists!"

From what I can tell the authdaemond daemon is not running.

Really not sure what the problem is here. The error does not appear fatal and it has no visible effects on the operation of my machine, but I just dont like seeing errors on bootup :-) I have had this problem for some time now so it is unlikely to be the result of a recent emerge.

Unset:  ASFLAGS, CBUILD, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY

/etc/init.d/authdaemond stop
rc-update del authdaemond
mv /etc/init.d/authdaemond /tmp/authdaemond.old
/etc/init.d/courier-authlib stop
/etc/init.d/courier-authlib zap
/etc/init.d/courier-authlib start

If the above works for you, then

rm /tmp/authdaemond.old
rc-update add courier-authlib default
