Had a quick look but nothing jumps as a potential culprit. Do you mind reporting this upstream at dovecot mailing list? Well, holidays allowed me digging in the live system and I discovered this could be kernel related and not a dovecot bug: 6.1.0 Output of /proc/self/status ============ Name: cat Umask: 0022 State: R (running) Tgid: 10205 Ngid: 0 Pid: 10205 PPid: 4193 TracerPid: 0 Uid: 0 0 0 0 Gid: 0 0 0 0 FDSize: 256 Groups: 0 1 2 3 4 6 10 11 26 27 NStgid: 10205 NSpid: 10205 NSpgid: 10205 NSsid: 4189 VmPeak: 6828 kB VmSize: 6828 kB VmLck: 0 kB VmPin: 0 kB VmHWM: 912 kB VmRSS: 912 kB RssAnon: 88 kB RssFile: 824 kB RssShmem: 0 kB VmData: 340 kB VmStk: 132 kB VmExe: 20 kB VmLib: 1484 kB VmPTE: 52 kB VmSwap: 0 kB CoreDumping: 0 THP_enabled: 1 Threads: 1 SigQ: 3/15568 SigPnd: 0000000000000000 ShdPnd: 0000000000000000 SigBlk: 0000000000000000 SigIgn: 0000000000000000 SigCgt: 0000000000000000 CapInh: 0000000000000000 CapPrm: 000001ffffffffff CapEff: 000001ffffffffff CapBnd: 000001ffffffffff CapAmb: 0000000000000000 NoNewPrivs: 0 Seccomp: 0 Seccomp_filters: 0 Speculation_Store_Bypass: thread vulnerable SpeculationIndirectBranch: conditional enabled Cpus_allowed: 00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,00000000,0000000f Cpus_allowed_list: 0-3 voluntary_ctxt_switches: 0 nonvoluntary_ctxt_switches: 0 ===== after switching to 6.1.1 with a additional reviewed kernel config ================================================================= Name: cat Umask: 0022 State: R (running) Tgid: 4115 Ngid: 0 Pid: 4115 PPid: 4101 TracerPid: 0 Uid: 0 0 0 0 Gid: 0 0 0 0 FDSize: 256 Groups: 0 1 2 3 4 6 10 11 26 27 NStgid: 4115 NSpid: 4115 NSpgid: 4115 NSsid: 4094 VmPeak: 6832 kB VmSize: 6832 kB VmLck: 0 kB VmPin: 0 kB VmHWM: 876 kB VmRSS: 876 kB RssAnon: 92 kB RssFile: 784 kB RssShmem: 0 kB VmData: 340 kB VmStk: 132 kB VmExe: 20 kB VmLib: 1488 kB VmPTE: 52 kB VmSwap: 0 kB CoreDumping: 0 THP_enabled: 1 Threads: 1 SigQ: 1/15569 SigPnd: 0000000000000000 ShdPnd: 0000000000000000 SigBlk: 0000000000000000 SigIgn: 0000000000000000 SigCgt: 0000000000000000 CapInh: 0000000000000000 CapPrm: 000001ffffffffff CapEff: 000001ffffffffff CapBnd: 000001ffffffffff CapAmb: 0000000000000000 NoNewPrivs: 0 Seccomp: 0 Seccomp_filters: 0 Speculation_Store_Bypass: thread vulnerable SpeculationIndirectBranch: conditional enabled Cpus_allowed: f Cpus_allowed_list: 0-3 voluntary_ctxt_switches: 0 nonvoluntary_ctxt_switches: 0 ==== To me it looks like a kernel glitch dovecot was complaining about (all those zeros) and the bug is now rather pointless... no other systems showed this behavior. If no one tells me the first output is valid and dovecot should deal with it as well, I would delete the bug... comments? |
