i have this problem too. I even reemerged evolution but it doesn't seem to make the development files available to this ebuild...I even tried rebuilding the evolution-data-server package and it choked with the same error... Portage 2.0.51.21-r1 (default-linux/x86/2005.0, gcc-3.3.5, glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r1, 2.6.11-gentoo-r6 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.11-gentoo-r6 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.70GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.6.10 dev-lang/python: 2.3.4-r1 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.5-r1 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.4 sys-devel/binutils: 2.15.92.0.2-r1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.16 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.8.1-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=i686 -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/env /usr/kde/3.3/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=i686 -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.ccccom.com" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X alsa apache2 apm arts avi bash-completion berkdb bitmap-fonts bluetooth bootsplash cddb cdparanoia cdr cdrom cluster codecs cryptcups curl dhcp divx4linux dvd dvdr dvdread eds emboss encode esd ethereal evo evo2 fam fb fbcon fbdev foomaticdb fortran ftp gdbm gif gimp gimpprint gkrellm gnome gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 h323 imagemagick imlib ipv6 java jpeg kde ldap libg++ libwww mad mikmod motif mozilla mp3 mpeg ncurses nls ogg oggvorbis opengl openssh oss pam pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline samba sdl spell ssl svga tcltk tcpd tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts videos vidix vorbis wifi win32codecs x11vnc xml2 xmms xv xvid zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY provide more of the actual error output & please use common sense when to attach stuff and when to c&p, your bug becomes unreadable because of the config.log . the EVOLUTION_API_VERSION variable in the configuration program needs to be changed from 2.0 to 2.2 if your using the newer versions of Evolution. my config.log after changing the evolution api version to 2.2
after changing to the evolution 2.2 api i get this error.....
Using config source xml::/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults for schema installation
Using $(sysconfdir)/gconf/schemas/ as install directory for schema files
checking for libedata-book-1.0... Package libedata-book-1.0 was not found in
the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libedata-book-1.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'libedata-book-1.0' found
configure: error: Library requirements (libedata-book-1.0) not met; consider
adjusting thePKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a
nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.
the _error output_, not another config.log after you messed with with configure yourself. Well, reopen if you even manage to post the actual error messages you get while emerging. Created attachment 60124 [details]
Config.log from failed ximian-connector install
The configuration script is searching for Evolution 2.0 and all it's associated
libraries (evolution-shell-2.0 libedata-book-1.0 libedata-cal-1.0 camel-2.0)
instead of those included with Evolution 2.2 (evolution-shell-2.2
libedata-book-1.2 libedata-cal-1.2 camel-2.2) and thus configuration fails.
This issue is fixed by using the new version of ximian-connector, which is actually ment to be used with newer versions of Evolution... See the following link for the ebuild. http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84971 I get the same with 2.2.3:
