Description Alexey Kakunin 2005-04-11 05:44:24 UTC
There are no dependency from epiphany to mozilla suite, so, I could remove mozilla suite without any questions. after it I cannot use epiphany, because it require libgtkembedmoz.so. Bug after installing mozilla-firefox (for example) it anyway doesn't run - give en error: "Epiphany cannot be used now. Mozilla initialization failed. Check your MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME environmental variable"

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Mozilla and epiphany
2. Uninstall Mozilla (emerge --unmerge mozilla)
3. Try to start epiphany (error about libgtkembedmoz.so)
4. Install mozilla-firefox (emerge mozilla-firefox) (1.0.2 is installed)
5. Try to run epiphany
6. Error about MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME

epiphany version 1.4.6
firefox version 1.0.2

There are. Portage however doesn't try to prevent you from shooting yourself in the foot.

A typical example is "emerge unmerge glibc" (which ought to warn because portage is in the system profile, but not because its depended on by something.
