Apparently the XDG_ECLASS_ICONFILES array gets too large.  I do not know what this is used for, but it needs to be reduced.  I edited the "temp/environment" and trimmed this down to just a couple of items in the array, and the install stage was able to proceed.  (I noticed some code that checks if there are multiple entries, but nothing that seemed to iterate over it.)

This doesn't seem to trigger anymore so I suspect the issue was elsewhere and is now resolved.

I'm going to mark this as obsikete however please feel free to reopen if you trigger this issue again.
