I've found a significant clue. Scott portage # gcc-config -l [1] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-3.3.3 [2] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-3.4.0 [3] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-3.4.1 [4] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-3.4.2 [5] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-3.4.3-20050110 [6] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-3.4.3-20050110-hardenednopie [7] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-3.4.3-20050110-hardenednossp [8] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-3.4.3-20050110-vanilla * #5 builds busted programs..some of them. in this case joe happens to be one of them. #8 will build programs that work. #5 also builds programs that cannot be handled in gdb. #8 is again fine. i'm going to do a quick search on gcc and if nothign relevant shows up, i'll open a new bug, point this to that, and resolve/invalid this bug. |
