This is super annoying when diff-ing upstream tarballs.  Whenever I do my usual search for various build system files, less hangs for a (very) long time upon meeting very long lines (e.g. minified JS files).  During this time, it doesn't respond to ^c or ^\, and I have to kill(1) it from a separate terminal.
