Description Felix 2005-04-04 10:09:46 UTC
Can't mount formatted partitions. Give an error "Device is already mounted or busy". Example of command issued "mount -t ext3 /dev/hda1 /mnt/gentoo". Tried with reiserfs with no luck. Tried to mkdir a new directory and still no luck. Changed IDE ports, and even tried the on-board PDC20277 controller with no luck. Attempted to delete the partitions and re-create them with no luck.

Confirmed with "mount" and "df -ah". The mount point does not show.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. cfdisk /dev/hda
2. mkfs.ext3 /dev/hda1
3. mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/gentoo
Actual Results:
Mount: Device already mounted or busy

Expected Results:
It should mount the partition with formatted filesystem as to the specified mount point.

This happens with both 2005.0 Universal and Minimal Bootable CDs. However does not happen with
2004.3 Minimal Bootable CD. I have not tested with 2004.3 Universal.

Try booting with "gentoo nolvm" at boot...
