Installed Gentoo 2005.0 today using 'install-x86-minimal-2005.0.iso', 'stage2-i686-2005.0.tar.bz2' and the handbook. No problems here.

After the installation, reboot and 'emerge --sync',  the 'emerge xorg-x11' failed giving the following last lines:

Checked the gentoo handbook again; I did not skip a step. So can anybody explain/fix this error?




Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. install stage 2 i686 following the handbook
2. emerge --sync
3. emerge xorg-x11

Actual Results:  
Nothing much, a second try gave same output.


I will try to get that. No X11, and no links2/lynx, forced a reboot to w***s to 
make a bugreport.

Did you "emerge -e world" as stated in the handbook?

No I did not. 

Are we talking about the same handbook? 'emerge -e world' is not mentioned in the handbook-x86.
