Description Greg Surbey 2005-03-30 07:15:04 UTC
I created my lvm partitions using this guide http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/lvm2.xml
Everything went fine and it worked but then when I rebooted with the Live CD /dev/vg was not there. I had to do a "vgchange -a n" and "vgchange -a y" before the nodes would show up. Basically it wasn't automatic during boot like I thought it would be.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

This should be fixed for 2005.1

We are using genkernel-3.2.0 for this upcoming release. Unmask it to test it
out.

You will also need to add dolvm2 to the kernel cmdline to activate lvm in the
initrd for / on lvm.

I'm going to mark this as FIXED.

If you still have a problem, please feel free to let us know.

I checked 2005.1 and "gentoo dolvm2" does fix the issue :-) ... however it is
not listed as an option in "F2 for options".

There is no 2005.1 released... anything pre-release has its own bug and does not
belong in an old bug...

Anyway, we've removed everything from "F2 for options" and moved it to a README
since it was too big to fit on-screen...
