Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

After emerging aspell-0.50.5-r4, everything went fine, so emerging gedit should
emerge a compatible version of aspell (or a non-buggy one) automatically.

try
fix_libtool_files.sh

check gcc/binutils

try gcc-config -l

I also have this EXACT problem. Updated aspell and the error went away and gedit compiled just fine.

yeah ofcourse it goes away, but it has nothing todo with the upgrade: it is the recompile that fixes things.
