Hmmm, seems to be working now. What things did you re-emerge between 03-29 and 04-03? Something that could have corrected a sound or KDE config file. The problem is still there with KDE-3.4.1. The .ogg notifications only work if I do Control Centre -> Sound & Multimedia -> System Notifications -> Player Settings and set this to "Use an external player (/usr/kde/3.4/bin/artsplay)". If I select "Use the KDE sound system", usr/kde/3.4/share/sounds/KDE_Beep_Car.ogg doesn't play. Then you may want to add a comment to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102015. Thanks. Added comment to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102015. Hmmm, (thanks to Benno Schulenberg <benno@nietvergeten.nl> for the info), it seems that the .ogg notifications _will_ play with KDE sound system only if the Volume in Control Centre -> Sound & Multimedia -> System Notifications -> Player Settings is at 100%. The problem has been solved in CVS: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61438 |
