Description gentoo.bug.reports 2005-03-25 10:05:44 UTC
"Internal GStreamer error: pad problem. File a bug."

I, among other people apparently, receive this dialogue when using Rhythmbox. I have tried all of the steps listed on the reference URL to no avail. Some people in #gentoo-amd64 have reported no problems with GStreamer, but at least 3 others in the channel reported otherwise.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Rhythmbox or use GStreamer from the CLI
2. Attempt to play anything

Actual Results:
Error dialogue (or CLI message):

"Internal GStreamer error: pad problem. File a bug."

I am guessing that this affects anything built on GStreamer, which, in turn,
would make a handful of useful applications useless. :)

Expected Results:
Played the music with no error? :)

I am using snd-via82xx with ALSA support built into my kernel; Sound works
perfectly in other applications (i.e. XMMS).
