Also happens with other (but not all) 32-bit apps on amd64. E.g. vmware-workstation Tracked this warning string down to: /emul/linux/x86/usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0.400.7 which belongs to app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-gtklibs Happens (at least) with 1.2 and 1.2-r1 So binary emul-linux-x86-gtklibs needs rebuild with appropriate flags Excuse my ignorance but is this a developer problem? I'm assuming emerge emul-linux-x86-gtklibs won't fix it. The problem is not in firefox-bin, it is in app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-gtklibs 1.2+1.2-r1 which are used by e.g. firefox-bin and acroread. I would rename the summary to "app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-gtklibs causes annoying warnings, should be re-compiled with appropriate flags". Also re-assign to buwranglers, as this is not a primary problem for Mozilla Gentoo Team. First, the other program affected is not acroread, it is vmware-workstation, acutally vmware-worstation-5.0_rc4 With vmware-workstation, also having that output on console, but things getting more worse: Trying VM->"Capture Movie" nothing goes, please have a look at http://www.pinguin.tv/utf.png It's in german language, but the underlying problem is to fix emul-linux-x86-gtklibs i experience this with any programs compiled for 32bit on my amd64... can someone reassign this to bugwranglers or another appropriate group/person? Roland: what does "appropriate flags" mean to you? packages included in emul-linux-x86-gtklibs with their use flags are: dev-libs/atk-1.9.1 -debug -doc -static x11-libs/gtk+-1.2.10-r11 -debug +nls x11-libs/gtk+-2.6.4-r1 [2.6.7] -doc +jpeg -static +tiff x11-libs/pango-1.8.1 -debug -doc -static x11-themes/gtk-engines-2.6.3 These warnings are actually due to hardcoded gconv paths in your 32bit libc. You can get rid of the warnings by either: 1/ running: $ export GCONV_PATH="/usr/lib32/gconv" before you execute the 32bit app or 2/ Upgrade to 2005.0 profile and glibc-2.3.5 where this is already fixed. |
