Every kde package normally includes its own documentation. I don't think that the fact that konq-plugins has it in a separate package is a good reason to make it optional...
Comment 2 Peter Thomassen 2005-05-12 14:01:38 UTC
You may be right, but then there is no reason to have a seperate package. If the functionality of konq-plugins is not restricted by the lack of kdeaddons-doc-konq-plugins, I don't want to be forced to emerge it anyway. In other words, dependencies should only be defined if a package depends on others.

So, please make it optional or merge both packages.
Comment 3 Peter Thomassen 2005-05-12 14:03:19 UTC
Maybe, we can use the doc USE flag to decide on emerge time whether the docs are installed.
Comment 4 Gregorio Guidi (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-12 16:18:53 UTC
The reason for kdeaddons-doc-konq-plugins being a separate package is in bug 86009. Anyway, stripping the user documentation from a package is not an option, the 'doc' flag is only for extra documentation.

Okay, this is comprehensible, thanks.
