Wow, Bob... Any chance you could put the package name in the Summary? Judging by the error that you've listed, I would assume that whatever package that you're speaking of is either newer or older than the server version you're connecting to. Sorry, this is version 2.60 that is giving me the problems. And while "newer or older than the server version you're connecting to" does explain the server mismatch error when connecting to IP's problem, it doesn't really explain why I get no server list at all (at least from what I understand it doesn't) Great... 2.60 of *what* exactly? More info on posting games bugs can be found at http://games.gentoo.org in the "Gentoo Games Bugs FAQ" section. uhh enemy territory That wasn't so hard, now was it... ;] I'll look into it as soon as I get a chance. Have you tried reinstalling? Running from the console to see if there are any errors? haven't yet tried re-installing but no messages out of the ordinary when running it from a terminal that I can tell. This is the output after the usual sound initialization and loading of maps: --- Common Initialization Complete --- Opening IP socket: localhost:27960 Hostname: asylum.gothic-chic.is-a-geek.com Alias: asylum Alias: localhost IP: 127.0.0.1 Started tty console (use +set ttycon 0 to disable) ^5PunkBuster Client: PunkBuster Client (v1.152 | A0) Enabled ^5PunkBuster Client: Game Version [ET 2.60 linux-i386 Mar 10 2005] ^5PunkBuster Client: Not Connected to a Server Resolving etmaster.idsoftware.com etmaster.idsoftware.com resolved to 192.246.40.60:27951 0 servers listed in browser with 0 players. 0 servers listed in browser with 0 players. 0 servers listed in browser with 0 players. ----- CL_Shutdown ----- RE_Shutdown( 1 ) ----------------------- ----- CL_Shutdown ----- ----------------------- Shutdown tty console I just verified that it does work here. One other thing you could try is to rename your .etwolf directory to something else and see if it works after restarting et... a simple permission problems was the problem removing all traces of .etwolf fixed the problem. |
