not sure if it's normal that glibc-2.3.3 is part of the path structure in the error message? Were there any errors from make or gcc before that snip ? no, that's the first sign of anything going wrong. apologies, just tried this again and the following shows up that I missed the first couple of times; mv: cannot stat `/tmp/portage/glibc-2.3.4.20041102-r1/work/build-default-i686-pc-linux-gnu-linuxthreads/sysd-versionsT': No such file or directory make[4]: *** [/tmp/portage/glibc-2.3.4.20041102-r1/work/build-default-i686-pc-linux-gnu-linuxthreads/sysd-versions] Error 1 make[3]: *** [/tmp/portage/glibc-2.3.4.20041102-r1/work/build-default-i686-pc-linux-gnu-linuxthreads/csu/rtld-check_fds.os] Error 2 make[3]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... doing a "rm -rf /tmp/portage" followed by re-emerging worked. sounds good |
