Asignee changed to Thomas Bettler, the maintainer of sci-libs/pdal. This ebuild has to be keyworded for ppc first, because it's a dependency of sci-geosciences/grass. @mario: did you test pdal on ppc? @mario: did you test pdal on ppc? Asignee changed to back to Mario. PR for pdal is pending... (In reply to Thomas Bettler from comment #4) > @mario: did you test pdal on ppc? That's what kwreqs are for! (In reply to Sam James from comment #6) > (In reply to Thomas Bettler from comment #4) > > @mario: did you test pdal on ppc? > > That's what kwreqs are for! @Thomas, @Sam: Sorry for the confusion. The Bug was initially assigned to me, but to re-request keywording for sci-geosicences/grass, sci-libs/pdal needs to be keyworded first since it is a prerequisite. I thought this is the responsibiliy of the maintainer (like it is for stable requests) and it is discouraged to request keywording bypassing the maintainer. So I reassigned the bug to learn how the further process is (I didn't it before) and to copy that afterwards for sci-geosicences/grass. Please apologize if I did something wrong. What is expected from me now? Unfortunately I don't have access to a PPC machine. It is possible that the arch team does the required tests? It's still assigned to grass's main maintainer - you should request keywording and the arch testers will do it. It looks like this hasn't been processed due to failed sanity check, let me try to manually fix it. Sanity check failed:

IMHO this package can be de-keyworded for ppc. It's not keyworded on ppc64 and probably for todays standards a 32bit PPC machine is not exactly fit for the task of a "powerful raster, vector, and geospatial processing engines in a single integrated software suite". ;) (In reply to ernsteiswuerfel from comment #13) > IMHO this package can be de-keyworded for ppc. > > It's not keyworded on ppc64 and probably for todays standards a 32bit PPC > machine is not exactly fit for the task of a "powerful raster, vector, and > geospatial processing engines in a single integrated software suite". ;) If the depgraph allows it, sure! It is possible that the arch team does the required tests? i'm sorry, I kept getting distracted from replying. - You did absolutely nothing wrong! - Both stabilisations and keywording for the actual platforms are done by arch testers, so it is OK if the maintainer does not have access to either. - The responsibility for the maintainer in keywording bugs is to scream if you know it is truly broken/can't work on an arch.
