MiKTeX is a modern TeX distribution for Windows, Linux and macOS.

License: GPL2 and possibly other, they do not have a global license so every file must be checked ...

They bundle 40+ dependencies, in cmake you can set 30+ dependencies to the system one, the other dependencies must be unbundled (lua and luajit for example)
