it seems when installing on amd64 (nocona) that when using udev and baselayout stable version which are QUITE old i think it was like udev42... it is marked extremely old...and has lots of bugs in the forum... When unmasked for ~amd64 it installs and straps and boots perfectly.

It's your choice whether to run the newest packages, we have strict rules we have to follow before marking something stable. Sometimes it's true a newer version works better - but we have to be absolutely certain its stable before we make it default for your 'average user'.

Was there a point to this bug? If you are running 2005.0 already and feel some stuff wants updating or keywording, please open individual bugs with the subject '<category>/<package>-<version> wants keywording amd64/~amd64'.
