Description Schricker 2005-03-13 07:20:49 UTC
Emerged Evolution-2.2 with "+crypt -debug -doc +gstreamer -ipv6 -kerberos -ldap -mono -mozilla -nntp -pda +spell +ssl", which shows that I would expect SSL support enabled.

But whenever I try to actually use SSL from within Evolution to connect to my mail server, it fails.
See URL [png] above, the dialog showing "SSL unavailable" appears whenever I "check for supported types" while having "Use Secure Connection" set to "Always".
Since my mail server requires me to use SSL, bypassing the test leads to nothing as I then always get "SSL unavailable" when Evolution tries to connect to the mail server.

I also watched configure while emerging Evolution and it shows that nss/nspr are found and the summary of configure shows that SSL support will be build.

What I tried:
-> emerged Mozilla and then Evolution with +mozilla to use nss/nspr directly from Mozilla
-> re-emerged nss & nspr and re-emerged evolution (this time of course with -mozilla)

My emerge info:

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. create new mail account and try to always use SSL (or if SSL is enforced by the mail server)
2. have no luck connecting :-(
