Might be https://projects.gentoo.org/python/guide/test.html#tests-aborting-due-to-assertions ish, I don't remember if they removed/changed the aborted message or not. In any case, could you grab a backtrace please? (In reply to Sam James from comment #2) > > In any case, could you grab a backtrace please? I seem to be able to reproduce it. Is there an easy way to get python backtrace from the ebuild? By modifying package.env or the ebuild itself? Or how else should I do it... Is there an easy way to get python > backtrace from the ebuild? By modifying package.env or the ebuild itself? Or > how else should I do it... It'd work to use coredumpctl if systemd or minicoredumper if openrc (or no init) (then it can just capture it from the failed run magically). Otherwise, the hackier way is to try and run the same python command which fails in the workdir / test dir (I can't reproduce sadly or I'd just grab it and tell you how I did :|) I couldn't figure out minicoredumper, I guess it needs to be "attached" to host outside a container to work. tried manually with pytest -vvv and got: tests/widget/repofilterbar_branch_test.py::RepoFilterBarBranchTest::test_change_branch This plugin does not support propagateSizeHints() PASSED tests/widget/repofilterbar_branch_test.py::RepoFilterBarBranchTest::test_include_closed_branches This plugin does not support propagateSizeHints() PASSED tests/widget/repofilterbar_branch_test.py::RepoFilterBarBranchTest::test_label_for_all_branches This plugin does not support propagateSizeHints() Fatal Python error: Segmentation fault Thread 0x00007fd3cbc31740 (most recent call first): File "/var/tmp/portage/dev-vcs/tortoisehg-5.9.3/work/thg-5.9.3/tests/widget/repofilterbar_branch_test.py", line 60 in tearDown File "/usr/lib/python3.9/unittest/case.py", line 553 in _callTearDown File "/usr/lib/python3.9/unittest/case.py", line 595 in run File "/usr/lib/python3.9/unittest/case.py", line 651 in __call__ File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/_pytest/unittest.py", line 327 in runtest File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/_pytest/runner.py", line 166 in pytest_runtest_call File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/pluggy/_callers.py", line 39 in _multicall File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/pluggy/_manager.py", line 80 in _hookexec File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/pluggy/_hooks.py", line 265 in __call__ File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/_pytest/runner.py", line 259 in <lambda> File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/_pytest/runner.py", line 338 in from_call File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/_pytest/runner.py", line 258 in call_runtest_hook File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/_pytest/runner.py", line 219 in call_and_report File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/_pytest/runner.py", line 130 in runtestprotocol File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/_pytest/runner.py", line 111 in pytest_runtest_protocol File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/pluggy/_callers.py", line 39 in _multicall File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/pluggy/_manager.py", line 80 in _hookexec File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/pluggy/_hooks.py", line 265 in __call__ File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/_pytest/main.py", line 347 in pytest_runtestloop File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/pluggy/_callers.py", line 39 in _multicall File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/pluggy/_manager.py", line 80 in _hookexec File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/pluggy/_hooks.py", line 265 in __call__ File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/_pytest/main.py", line 322 in _main File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/_pytest/main.py", line 268 in wrap_session File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/_pytest/main.py", line 315 in pytest_cmdline_main File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/pluggy/_callers.py", line 39 in _multicall File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/pluggy/_manager.py", line 80 in _hookexec File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/pluggy/_hooks.py", line 265 in __call__ File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/_pytest/config/__init__.py", line 164 in main File "/var/tmp/portage/dev-vcs/tortoisehg-5.9.3/work/thg-5.9.3/tests/run-tests.py", line 21 in main File "/var/tmp/portage/dev-vcs/tortoisehg-5.9.3/work/thg-5.9.3/tests/run-tests.py", line 25 in <module> Segmentation fault Any help? try gdb --args pytest ... then "r" Then "bt" when it fails tests/widget/repofilterbar_branch_test.py::RepoFilterBarBranchTest::test_selected_inactive_branch_removed_from_list [New Thread 0x7ffff15f1640 (LWP 18328)] [Thread 0x7ffff15f1640 (LWP 18328) exited] This plugin does not support propagateSizeHints() PASSED tests/widget/repofilterbar_branch_test.py::RepoFilterBarEmptyBranchTest::test_branch_combo_enabled_if_closed_branches_included [New Thread 0x7ffff15f1640 (LWP 18329)] This plugin does not support propagateSizeHints() Thread 9 "QThread" received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. Could you enable debugging symbols for sys-libs/glibc, dev-qt/qtcore, x11-libs/qscintilla, dev-python/qscintilla-python (to be safe, as it installs a library), Might need them for dev-python/PyQt5 too but you can hold off on that if you want until we're sure, as it's not a fast build. After running, USE="printsupport network gui widgets svg" CFLAGS="-march=native -O2 -pipe -ggdb3" CXXFLAGS="-march=native -O2 -pipe -ggdb3" FEATURES="splitdebug compressdebug -nostrip" emerge -1av --usepkg=n --buildpkg=n sys-libs/glibc dev-qt/qtcore x11-libs/qscintilla dev-python/qscintilla-python dev-python/PyQt5 I'm not able to reproduce the issue anymore after 10 tries :) I imagine it was some qt-related broken binpkg, qtcore or qscintilla or qscintilla-python since I had to manually build PyQt5 anyway due to the REQUIRED_USE constraints. |
