Component: [OLD] KDEAssignee: Gentoo KDE team <kde>
Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE

Description Roger Hill-Cottingham 2005-03-08 13:32:32 UTC
Upgraded to KDE3.3.2 (kmail 1.7.2) with emerge world. Since then all dialog boxes from kmail have not appeared on the desktop that kmail is running in: I have to use the fvwm2 window list to find them. Previous versions (from kde3.3.1 and earlier) have all worked fine; the popup dialog boxes appear on top of the application and get focus.

The same behavour occurs for all KDE applications that I have tried.

Kernel 2.6.8-gentoo-r4, xorg-x11-6.8.0-r4, fvwm-2.5.12

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on any menu item that should bring up a dialog box.

Actual Results:
The dialog box will not overlay the application and will not have focus and will
not be on the curreent desktop. Use the fvwm2 windowlist function to iconise
then de-iconise to get the dialog top and focus.

Expected Results:
Dialog box should be on top of the application and have focus without having to
hunt around to find it.

bug 84387 also happens with amd64 and fvwm, so I assume it's the same bug...
