I know you're going to state that the information is in Bugzilla Bug 83797 but that doesn't tell the other 10,000 mail servers that got knocked down today that there has been a policy change.
Things like this need to be noted.

so what I'm saying is that the default should have remained clearpasswd and those few and I'm talking less than 3% that require security should have used, USE="-clearpasswd". But hey let history speak for itself when the rest of the complaints come in.

This has been noted both in ebuild changelog, and in ewarn message on the beginning of uw-imap emerge. It's not our fault that admins don't read them.
