The problem seems to be with the package.  If I install SVK from the CPAN shell it appears to work.

$ svk
"catfile" is not exported by the SVK::Util module
 "catdir" is not exported by the SVK::Util module
Can't continue after import errors at /usr/bin/svk line 13
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/svk line 13.

I downgraded from svk 1.00 to 0.29 and it works. Closing it as WORKSFORME. If it doesn't work, please reopen it (but i think you should use svk 1.0 anyway)

Well this bug was filed long before svk 1.0 was released (that was 9 days ago).  0.29 is still broken and the 1.00 ebuild that you uploaded within the last couple of hours has problems on amd64.  I'd like to leave this bug open until the 1.00 ebuild is clearly the resolution.

The svk-1.00 ebuilds work for me.
