shows the problem. One needs to explicitly mount -t ext3 /dev/hda3 /mnt/gentoo
if using an ext3 filesystem. Please mention that in the handbook for 2005.0 and also on the 2005.0 install cd edition.

*-disk.xml updated in the draft. Will this be in stable before the 2005.0 media is released (so that network-based installations do not suffer from this bug)?
