Learning catalyst - followed the instructions using unaltered spec (stage 1 stage 2) files for creating a livecd. Stage 1 & 2 appear to be fine.
On boot (in vmware 4.5.2) get an error message:

VFS: Cannot open root device "ram0" or 01:00
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 01:00

Reproducible: Always

You really should use newer catalyst versions, as 1.1.0 has been removed from portage for a while. Also, I recommend only using cascaded profiles, and not the deprecated flat profiles.

Anyway, if you still have this same problem with catalyst 1.1.5, then REOPEN, please.
