Discovered on: amd64 (internal ref: tinderbox)

NOTE:
This machine uses CLANG as a compiler and LLD as a linker

Odd, I cannot reproduce it on my end. Anyway, looks like 11.4 is at long last just round the corner so let's sit on the problem until the new version has come out and see if it still occurs.

11.4 is now in the tree, let's see if the issue pops up there as well.
