Please submit a full bug report.

Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce
Steps to Reproduce:
1.I've been following the instructions at the following link in the Documentation Tips & Tricks to get a Stage 1 NPTL on a Stage 3 Tarball:

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-274968-postdays-0-postorder-asc-start-0.html
I actually have a post on the forums in the Installing Gentoo section that I was able to get help with on a separate matter with getting gcc to emerge.

2. While running emerge gcc I ran into the error above in the details section.

3. aprox 7pm CST: I had to power down and reboot the laptop to get back into the system so that I could try and reproduce the error. It is currently running the second attempt at emerge gcc right now.

4. Just got an hda: dma_timer_expiry: dma status 0x21 on the screen for about 20 sec and then the emerge gcc picked up again and continued.

5. 4 more dma_timer_expiry: dma status 0x21, they seem to be coming more frequent as each one happens.

6. Getting alot more status errors now. status 0x11, 0x04 0x19 happeing every few seconds along with, ide: failed opcode was: unknown, and hda: drive not ready for command, but so far the emerge gcc hasen't completly bombed yet. After each status error I get a ide0: reset success.

7. aprox: 9pm CST: Just got a series of hda: lost interrupt and the screen seems to have locked. System just keeps scrolling hda: lost interrupt, emerge has failed again but not producing the same error.
Actual Results:
See Steps to Reproduce

Expected Results:
Complete the emerge gcc process.
