Sorry, I don't think we're ready. >=dev-python/PyQt5-5.15.5 has major build system changes that break some reverse deps. It also requires sip-6, which comes with its own major breaking changes, and several packages are still not compatible with it.

I dunno honestly. I recently had a major hardware failure and I'm down to zero gentoo boxes suitable for development. And the situation is unlikely to change any time soon. From a quick search it looks like there's still bug 828938 at least, and I'm not sure what's going on with #797571 and #820473.

I think we should stabilize sip-6.5.0-r1 instead of -r0, since that's the minimum version required by DISTUTILS_USE_PEP517=sip
