Bug 82069 – emerge -ua world: multiple pkgs halt the process

I have performed 'emerge --sync' and attempted 'emerge -ua world' as per "The complete Gentoo Linux 2.6 migration guide" and have been met with multiple packages halting the process.  All involved packages were installed the 'correct way' and are listed in the 'world' file:  
(1)alsa-drivers (the process notified me that I'd compiled it in the kernel but its compilation halted the emerge process)
(2)mldonkey (it was emerged along with multiple other applications after first boot and it gave a compilation error: "emake [all] error 2"
(3)kdelibs (it was emerged along with the entirety of KDE and it, too, halted the emerge process with a compilation error: "emake [all] error 2"

After the first error, I performed "emerge unmerge alsa-drivers" and the 'emerge -ua world' process continued until it reached mldonkey...

I performed "emerge unmerge mldonkey" and the emerge world process continued as before until kdelibs...

When it halted at kdelibs I decided I was_not_going to unmerge the whole of kde for the process to continue so I recovered my pre-emerge world backup.

Lastly, I assure you that I followed the guide word for word & performed any prerequisite tasks prior to attempting the emerge world operation.  To make absolutely certain, I tried it two times and each time was met with the same problems.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge --sync
2.emerge -ua world
3.
Actual Results:  
Process came to an abrupt halt w/a compiler error: emake [all] error 2

Expected Results:  
Performed the emerge world w/o a problem after the alsa-driver pkg was
uninstalled (because it was compiled intohe kernel)

Uh-oh... recovered from backup.  It's gone.  Do I need to perform this a third
time??  Let me know.  It's in the realm of the possible --though not in the
realm of the desirable.

you have to file bugs about each individual package that failed

in this case you should file a bug about mldonkey / kdelibs ... i doubt those failures are related to 2.6

alsa-drivers is explicitly mentioned in the guide and it's suggested that you remove it
