Description W. B. Maguire II 2005-02-14 10:35:25 UTC
Installing app.s on a new Gentoo system. 'emerge xpdf' first tries to emerge "t1lib", but dies with an access violation. I searched Bugzilla, and found an *old* bug that looked similar, and the resolution was to unmerge/re-emerge "tetex". I tried that: unmerged tetex, emerged tetex, emerge xpdf. I get the same error:

Transcript written on latex.log.

looks more like an app-text thing
Comment 3 Nguyen Thai Ngoc Duy (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-14 23:38:23 UTC
I tried but didn't have the problem. What tetex version you are using?
Comment 4 W. B. Maguire II 2005-02-15 10:46:00 UTC
Sorry for the delay...
tetex-2.0.2-r5

It is strange. I installed Gentoo on two computers. On one, I emerged KDE, on the other I was going to use Blackbox. Then I fed a list of packages from my workstation's "world" file, to each of these machines. The KDE machine emerged XPDF just fine (meaning "t1lib" also), whereas the XPDF build fails on the non-KDE machine!

Is there anything else I can provide to help illuminate teh situation?
