When attempting an 'emerge world', I received an error when it was performing an emerge of gnome-ppp.  Specifically, I received the following error message:

configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool
...
!!! ERROR: net-dialup/gnome-ppp-0.3.17 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 485, Exitcode 0
!!! econf failed

I chose not to attempt to add the XML::Parser module via CPAN as I would believe that it should have been added as a dependency.  It's important to note that I was able to emerge gnome-ppp originally, and am having problems with the 0.3.17 version.  I currently have the 0.3.16 version installed.

It still did not emerge.

It should have finished the merge and continued on.

dev-util/intltool added to DEPEND. 
also I've moved dev-perl/XML-Parser from RDEPEND to DEPEND in dev-util/intltool.

the fix to intltool is not your pack & not correct. please undo.

on second look, it is correct now - though probably not for all versions that got altered (altough only because the config file changed, i bet they got too much upstream bugreports about it, not because it is a buildtime necessity).
