i kept getting this error until i went to /usr/src/linux and ran make
I'm running 2.6.10r6 and i use genkernel.  I shouldn't of had to run make and make another kernel just to install svgalib.  I'm not sure if this is an issue of genkernal or svgalib.  I even tried running make menuconfig loaded my config file with "load alternate config file" and svgalib still didn't compile until i ran make and compiled another version of the kernel without the use of genkernel.  I wanted to post a new but that would be marked as active so that someone would look into this.

you can look into it and solve it. In the meantime its invalid
