The Handbook (https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Handbook:AMD64/Portage/Branches) mentions "/var/db/repos/gentoo/profiles/package.mask" as existent. But this cant be found after a new install of gentoo done as given at https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Handbook:AMD64 "Installing Gentoo".
