Log from emerge lletters >& log
Ah, well, now, I see the "root error" - which must have scrolled away before.
Must admit, I'm still clueless what to do about it.
About my version of Portage, I burned a universal install iso of 2004.3-r1
(which was the most recent available for amd64 a couple of weeks ago, don't
know about now), and did a "stage 3" install, which I assume keeps the portage
off the CD. I did run the package update on it last friday night.
Thanks for your help, lletters is the only game listed as "amd64 ready" that I
think my 3 year old will enjoy... Doom3 is working, but I don't think we want
him going there yet.
looks like you need to update world to me. Your system is definitely out of date. reopen if you still have problems after updating your system to the latest stable versions. Thanks. |
