Please take a look at this thread. Look like an IPV6 problem that can be workarounded. http://lists.kde.org/?t=110662056600005&r=1&w=2 Let us know if this works. This does not appear to help. Should I just add KDE_NO_IPV6=true to the end of /etc/profile or is more needed for this fix? I have not knowingly compiled IPv6 support into the kernel, and IPv6 is not enabled in /etc/rc.conf (the line reads: PROTOCOLS="1 2" ). > Should I just add KDE_NO_IPV6=true to the end of /etc/profile or is more

Try setting KDE_NO_IPV6=true in /etc/env.d/99kde-env and run env-update,
and see if it works...
No reply from reporter. I'm sorry. I don't know how I missed that when it was first posted here. That fixes it. Thanks. (Shouldn't this be default, at least for people who have chosen not to use IPv6 during installation?) Gentoo defaults to IPv6 and the documentation is in place -> http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/kde-config.xml#doc_chap4 |
