"7z" is a valid package name according to https://dev.gentoo.org/~ulm/pms/head/pms.html#x1-180003.1.2. portage and repoman are also fine with it. see also dev-libs/9libs, dev-python/3to2, and 11 other examples already in gentoo repo.
