Executing /etc/init.d/varnishd reload triggers this error: Illegal character in VCL name (':') Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Start Varnish: /etc/init.d/varnishd start Reload it: /etc/init.d/varnishd reload The problem is the line 61 of /etc/init.d/varnishd new_config="reload_$(date +%FT%H:%M:%S)" A solution can be set to new_config="reload_$(date +%FT%H%M%S)" or other variants.
