My daily emerge -uvD world died after sys-libs/glibc-2.3.4.20041102 was updated. I cannot complete the updates, every compliation fails with errors such as below:

checking how to run the C preprocessor... /lib/cpp
configure: error: C preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check
See `config.log' for more details.

!!! ERROR: sys-libs/pam-0.77-r6 failed.

simple c programs with stdio.h wont compile and these headers are now gone from the system. pretty fatal.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge sync 
2. emerge uvD world
3. system wont update.

Actual Results:  
My system is seriously borked. 

Expected Results:  
To have a current upto date, secure, reliable gentoo that I like!

attach the config.log from one of the build directories
