Description Anna Vyalkova 2021-07-31 21:41:10 UTC
I have something to add to the recent discussion[0] on gentoo-project ML.

GLEP says:
> The sign-off must contain the committer's legal name as a natural person, i.e.,
> the name that would appear in a government issued document.
However, legal name is often also a deadname[1], so current policy either makes
feel like violating something if not using it or makes feel dysphoric when using
it. And legal name change can be hard in some countries.

It could be rephrased as "real name" or "preferred name" with examples other than
government documents to be more inclusive.

(i know almost nothing about plural[2] people and don't know whether is current
requirement ok for them)

Bring this up on the mailing list please. It is not actionable for GLEP editors without prior discussion and approval by council and trustees.

I tried to post a reply to gentoo-project ML before reporting on bugzilla but it
didn't get there.. Maybe it is for developers only. What is the proper list?
